Gillette, Old Spice, and Everything Nice!

Just got back from Rite Aid this evening. My mother and I spent a good 90 minutes in the store clear up until closing time. It was well worth it.

As much as I like to procrastinate, I absolutely cannot do it with couponing. Sunday I waited until 10:30 am to go out for newspapers, and I drove around for 2 hours before finally finding the Washington Post in Garrett County!!!! The WP is my personal preference over our local paper. Also I've been waiting until Friday or Saturday to go out shopping but the shelves are almost cleared out by then. I decided after almost losing my mind Sunday morning I would head out to the stores early this week. However it's not likely that the store has all the shelves stocked and they almost never have all the price tags updated so you really have to be prepared.

CVS wasn't a huge deal Sunday morning. I grabbed the 2 packs of 8ct. Excedrin for free (pay 99 cents get 99 cents in EB's) and luckily the trashbags I needed were part of the $10 gas deal so I grabbed 4 boxes of Hefty which came to $27 and some change so I threw in a bag of Dove chocolates for $3 to bring the gas deal pre-coupon total to $30. I also grabbed a Colgate toothbrush and toothpaste for free (actually I made 51 cents on each one after coupons & EB's) but I need to go back for the Crest 1L mouthwash which is 99 cents after coupons & EB's.

Now Rite Aid was a pretty awesome trip. Just for fun, I taped my receipt to the wall so you could see it  =)

I grabbed 3 Oral B Pulsar brushes for $5.99 each. After a $3 coupon and earning a $2.99+UP, these babies were free!

There is also a P&G promotion for a $10+UP wyb $30. Again, you don't have to actually spend $30, you just have to have $30 worth of eligible products. Your coupons can bring the total below $30 and you'll still earn the reward. From this week's paper I had Old Spice "Buy deodorant Get bodywash FREE" coupons so I got 4 sets of those and 3 Gillette bodywashes.  I used 4 Old Spice BOGO coupons, 1 Gillette BOGO (bodywash only) coupon, and 1 coupon for $2 off Gillette bodywash, bringing my promo total to $38.50, earning me the $10 reward, however after manufacturer's coupons that $38.50 came down to $19.00.

While I'm at the register I thought I'd grab 2 packs of Reese cups and use my June Video Values coupon for 50 cents off 2, making them a quarter a piece. I also had several survey coupons for $3 off a $15 order. You are not limited to only 1 of those per order, as long as you have a $45 order, for example, you can use 3 of those coupons. Well my pre-coupon total was up to $57, so if I added just $3 more I could use a 4th coupon for $3 off a $15 order. So I grabbed 6 more Reeses bringing the total just over $60.

So here are the final numbers:
Spent    $ 9.07 pre-tax
Saved   $75.29 in sales & coupons
Earned  $21.97 in +UPs to spend next time!
